Lion’s Mane Mushrooms for Pets
Lion’s Mane mushrooms can protect and improve brain and nerve function making them essential for senior pets with degenerative myelopathy (a disease affecting the spinal cord, resulting in slowly progressive hind limb weakness and paralysis – the cause is unknown and notoriously hard to diagnose) or other nerve-related disorders. They are famous for their ability to stimulate nerve growth factor (NGF) improving brain and neurological functions as well as being able to regenerate damaged nerves and allowing neurons in the brain to survive.
Prevention is important for dementia in pets so giving Lion’s Mane to younger pets may also help keep the brain working at its best.
Benefits
- Supports gut and immune health
- Lion’s Mane is a prebiotic that helps feed the good bacteria in your pet’s gut helping to keep a healthy microbiome

Recommended Dosage
½ teaspoon daily per 12kg body weight or 300mg for every 9kgs.
Pets as young as 8 weeks can start on medicinal mushrooms for health benefits.

Important Info
With all our mushrooms we recommend starting with a very small dosage for a couple of days to evaluate whether your pet has any adverse reactions, although these are hardly ever reported, and then increasing the dosage accordingly.
The administering of medicinal mushrooms is meant to support your pet’s overall health. With that in mind, it may take 30 – 60 days to see any improvements.
